Nuevocor, a biotechnology company dedicated to combating cardiomyopathies with aberrant mechanobiology, has announced an addition to its leadership team with the appointment of Dr. John Lee, MD, PhD, as Chief Medical Officer. 

Dr. Lee brings over 15 years of expertise in clinical development and regulatory affairs, positioning him as a key asset in Nuevocor's mission to develop innovative medicines for cardiomyopathies, particularly focusing on LMNA DCM.

With a distinguished career in life sciences, Dr. Lee's tenure includes serving as the Chief Medical Officer of PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals, where he oversaw the development of clinical programs from Phase I to Phase III. His leadership at PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals was instrumental in driving the advancement of novel therapies. Prior to this, Dr. Lee held senior positions at Quintiles and Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he played pivotal roles in shaping cardiovascular therapeutic strategies and providing expert guidance in drug development.

Dr. Yann Chong Tan, CEO and Co-Founder of Nuevocor, expressed confidence in Dr. Lee's appointment, emphasizing his wealth of experience and track record in clinical development.
