Q: How do your solutions differentiate themselves from competitors in the market?
Shoeb Kurawadwala: Our primary focus is on sustainability and how we, as a responsible industry player, can help our customers achieve their carbon footprint reduction goals. We specialize in high purity water systems – including water for injection (WFI) and pure steam. CN Water is a recognized leader in the pharmaceutical industry, both in India and among multinational corporations, for their clean utility requirements.
Water systems are a significant contributor to the carbon footprint of most organizations. As an industry partner, we help customers by reducing chemical consumption, power requirements, and water usage—all while ensuring the production of high-quality water.
Our key innovations include:
These offerings demonstrate our commitment to helping customers meet their sustainability targets.
Q: How are you leveraging artificial intelligence and automation in your pharmaceutical products?
Shoeb Kurawadwala: Our water systems have historically featured a high level of automation. Today, we are leveraging this automation by gathering real-time data from our installed base across the industry through our remote monitoring solution.
With this system, we can monitor energy consumption, water production, and water quality minute-by-minute. This tool helps our customers identify and reduce waste efficiently.
Additionally, we are introducing our Cold WFI system, which purifies through filtration rather than traditional heat-based WFI generation methods. This technology, though globally available for 5-7 years, is gaining traction due to its energy efficiency and sustainability benefits. We are excited to launch it in India, where sustainability is becoming increasingly critical.
Q: Sustainability is a key mantra for every industry. As a responsible business, how are you contributing to India's net-zero goals?
Shoeb Kurawadwala: Sustainability is not just a mantra; it is a necessity for survival. Today, with available solutions, we can significantly reduce energy, chemical consumption, and water wastage.
In our domain of water systems, these reductions can have a meaningful impact. Extending this approach to other areas—such as packaging, recycling, and reuse—can create a significant movement. This requires the involvement of all stakeholders, including manufacturers, regulators, and equipment suppliers. We are committed to leading this change and supporting India’s journey toward net-zero goals through innovative and sustainable practices.
Q: With the growing pharmaceutical market in India, what are your plans for expansion in the Asia-Pacific region, and are there any upcoming launches?
Shoeb Kurawadwala: The Indian market is growing rapidly, and we are well-prepared to meet this growth. Our equipment is also increasingly in demand in emerging markets such as the Middle East, Africa, and parts of South America. As a long-term strategic partner with BWT Pharma & Biotech, we benefit from their extensive global presence, allowing us to reach new customers efficiently.
Indian-manufactured equipment is gaining acceptance internationally, which is a positive development. While we have been exporting equipment for years, the growing global recognition of Indian quality standards is creating additional opportunities.
