ACG Capsules Pithampur Named First Capsule Manufacturing Factory in Global Lighthouse Network

ACG, an integrated supplier and service provider to the pharmaceutical industry, has achieved a significant milestone as its capsule manufacturing facility in Pithampur, India, becomes the world's first capsule manufacturing factory to join the Global Lighthouse Network (GLN) by the World Economic Forum. This recognition was celebrated at the 54th Annual Davos Summit.

The Global Lighthouse Network, established by the World Economic Forum, acknowledges factories globally for their exemplary integration of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies, such as artificial intelligence and big data analytics. These factories are lauded for their dedication to enhancing efficiency, promoting sustainable development, advancing workforce skills, and prioritizing environmental protection.

Upon receiving this esteemed accolade, Karan Singh, Managing Director of ACG, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the entire team. "For me, the most unforgettable part of our journey wasn't any technology or efficiency milestone, but the incredible team that made it all possible. Just ordinary people, united towards one goal, bringing about innovative collaborations to push boundaries of what is possible,” he said.

Singh further emphasized the standout feature of their application, the Gen-AI integration, which was accomplished in less than two weeks. Amidst debates surrounding the implications of artificial intelligence, he emphasized the role of humans as drivers of change, emphasizing the brilliance of technology complemented by human initiative.

ACG, operating across 138 countries in six continents, has solidified its position as a leader in the pharmaceutical sector by prioritizing high-quality capsule production, enhancing responsiveness, improving production yields, and boosting workforce efficiency.

With billions of capsules produced annually and over 25 innovative applications of 4IR technologies implemented, including the industrial internet of things (IIoT), machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), digital twins, extended reality, and generative AI, ACG continues to innovate and set new benchmarks in quality and innovation.

Selwyn Noronha, CEO of ACG Capsules, expressed immense pride in the achievement of their first factory lighthouse and said, “We are extremely proud of our first factory lighthouse. From its inception, the facility has pioneered in its field, but this latest honour recognises the excellence in adopting AI at speed and scale."
