Cresilon Announces Distribution Agreement for VETIGEL in the UK and Europe

Brooklyn-based biotechnology company Cresilon Inc. has announced a distribution agreement for its hemostatic gel, VETIGEL®, which will now be sold directly to veterinary surgeons in the UK and across Europe through Veterinary Instrumentation (Vi). Vi, a supplier of veterinary surgical products, is part of the Covetrus animal health family.

VETIGEL, a plant-based hemostatic gel designed to instantly stop and control bleeding, will be available online through Vi’s extensive range of surgical and orthopedic instruments. The gel will also be distributed to veterinary surgeons throughout Europe and other countries via Vi’s global network.

Dr. Neil Smith, Cresilon's Scientific Services Veterinarian and Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (FRCVS), will provide online training on VETIGEL to all Vi distribution partners in June.

Matt Lewis, Vice President of Sales at Cresilon, said, “Our partnership with Veterinary Instrumentation will help us provide more veterinary surgeons with a revolutionary hemostatic gel that significantly improves the standard of care for pets and animals. VETIGEL has been used by thousands of veterinarians thus far and helps veterinary clinics and animal hospitals save time, reduce operating costs, and improve patient outcomes.”

Since its debut in 2021, VETIGEL has been utilized by veterinary surgeons in North America, Europe, and Asia for a variety of surgical procedures, including dental extractions, liver biopsies, tumor removals, cleft palate repairs, and amputations. To date, it has been used in over 50,000 surgeries worldwide.

VETIGEL offers a safe, efficient solution for controlling animal bleeding during multiple types of surgical procedures. Made from two plant-based polysaccharides, the gel forms an instant mechanical barrier to stop bleeding on contact. It can be easily removed without disturbing the clot or left to resorb in the body.

Supplied in a pre-filled syringe, VETIGEL is user-friendly and requires no special preparation or storage conditions, making it a convenient tool for veterinary surgeons.
