ENTOD Pharma Unveils Advanced Veterinary Ear Drops to Combat Ear Mites in Pets

ENTOD Pharmaceuticals has developed a groundbreaking veterinary ear drop solution developed for getting rid of ear mites in pets.

This novel and proprietary formula is designed specifically for dogs and cats, ensuring rapid yet gentle relief from ear-related infestations.

Ear mites are a common issue for pets, often causing irritation, infections, and discomfort. These tiny parasites live in the ear canal, feeding on skin debris and leading to symptoms such as excessive scratching, head shaking, redness, foul odor, and a buildup of dark waxy discharge. If left untreated, ear mites can cause serious bacterial or fungal infections, resulting in chronic pain, inflammation, and even temporary hearing loss. Designed for easy application, this newly launched ear drops reaches deep into the ear canal, ensuring effective and longer-lasting relief.

This launch marks ENTOD Pharmaceuticals' continued commitment to innovating in veterinary eye and ear care solutions under its specialised FUR by ENTOD (Veterinary) division.

"Ear health in pets is often overlooked, yet ear mites and infections can cause significant distress. With our 48 years expertise in ophthalmic and ENT medicines, we are proud to introduce this innovative and scientifically backed solution for pet ear health," said Nikkhil K Masurkar, CEO of ENTOD Pharmaceuticals.

Bharati S Jadhav, Head of Dept - Formulation R&D and Quality Assurance at Entod Pharmaceuticals said shared her excitement, remarking, "To extend our research efforts beyond human healthcare into veterinary medicine has been an exciting journey. Our formulation research team had to tailor these ear drops for use in small animals which required optimising certain parameters such as viscosity and flow dynamics in the animal ear canal. This has been a challenging and painstaking project but the efforts paid off due to the expertise and perseverance of the team. We subsequently applied for a patent for this unique formulation.”

The ear drops will only be available through the prescription of a registered veterinary practitioner in veterinary clinics and hospitals following a doctor consultation of the pet.
