West Pharmaceutical will spend $65 million to expand its Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, manufacturing facility in a project that will create 225 new jobs across the state.
The company has earmarked $60 million of its own money toward the expansion of the site that produces components and delivery systems for injectable drugs.
Based in Exton, Pennsylvania, West designs and manufactures products to store and deliver injectable medicines for drugmakers large and small. The company produces 45 billion drug storage components and delivery devices per year.
As part of the expansion, some new jobs will be located at West’s corporate offices in Exton. The company has about 1,385 employees statewide.
Globally, West boasts more than 10,000 workers at its 50 sites.
